Team now headed into the weekend against Lovejoy in the Quarterfinals

Rock Hill - Rock Hill (19-13-3) are in the middle of their best of three series District 10-5A rival Lucas Lovejoy (29-8) at McKinney North after dropping their first game 6-0 on May 20. The two teams headed into the weekend with two games scheduled. Rock Hill and Lovejoy faced each other twice during the season and Lovejoy got two wins by the scores of 8-2 and 2-1. 

Regional Quarterfinals Round -

Game 1:  Lucas Lovejoy 6 Rock Hill 0

Game 2: Saturday, May 22 @ McKinney North, 12:00

Game 3: 30 min after game 2 (if necessary)

Area Round - 

The Blue Hawks (19-12-3) got the 9-5 win against Dallas W.T. White (14-16-1) in the one game series playoff. Brett Foss got the win on the mound with four strikeouts withBrenner Cox coming in to face nine batters and striking out five. 

Ty Townsend went 2 for 3 in the game with a double and two rbi. Luke Leaumont went 2 for 4 with one rbi and Josh Livingston went 2 for 3 with three rbi on his one triple. 

Rock Hill is facing district rival Lucas Lovejoy (28-8) who defeated Dallas Hillcrest (22-9-3) 2-0 in the Area Round. The two will face off in the Regional Quarterfinals of the UIL Class 5A baseball playoffs.  

Bi-District Round - 

The Rock Hill Blue Hawk (17-12-3) rallied for a run in the top of the sixth inning and held on to get a 8-7 win over Frisco Liberty (21-8-2) in the first game of their three game series in the UIL Class 5A baseball playoffs. The Blue Hawks were up 7-1 going into the bottom of the fifth inning, but Liberty put up a six run rally to tie the score at 7-7. Rock Hill got one run in the sixth inning and took the win.

Brenner Cox was a one man wrecking crew as he went 2 for 3 with an rbi, a double, a home run and three stolen bases on the night. He also came into the game at pitcher and picked up the win on the mound. Drew Rodgers got the start on the bump for the Blue Hawks and went five innings. 

Nic Gilbreth was 2 for 4 with two rbi, Jack Opoien was 1 for 2 with a home run and Brett Foss was 2 for 2 at the plate.  

After the Thursday night thriller the Blue Hawks swept the series with an 8-0 shutout of Frisco Liberty and advanced to the Area round of the playoffs.
