Prosper sweeps Hebron to move to Area round in UIL Class 6A playoffs

Rock Hill Baseball Rundown: (Bi-District Round)

Rock Hill - The Rock Hill Blue Hawk (17-12-3) rallied for a run in the top of the sixth inning and held on to get a 8-7 win over Frisco Liberty (21-8-2) in the first game of their three game series in the UIL Class 5A baseball playoffs. The Blue Hawks were up 7-1 going into the bottom of the fifth inning, but Liberty put up a six run rally to tie the score at 7-7. Rock Hill got one run in the sixth inning and took the win.

Brenner Cox was a one man wrecking crew as he went 2 for 3 with an rbi, a double, a home run and three stolen bases on the night. He also came in the game at pitcher and picked up the win on the mound. Drew Rodgers got the start on the bump for the Blue Hawks and went five innings.

Nic Gilbreth was 2 for 4 with two rbi, Jack Opoien was 1 for 2 with a home run and Brett Foss was 2 for 2 at the plate.  

After the Thursday night thriller the Blue Hawks swept the series with an 8-0 shutout of Frisco Liberty and advanced to the Area round of the playoffs. Stats for Friday’s game were not available at press deadline. 

The Blue Hawks will face the winner of Dallas Molina (20-4-1) and Dallas W.T. White (13-15-1). W.T. White won the opener of the three game series 4-1 and the two teams will finish up the series on Saturday, May 8. Date, time and location of the next round of the playoffs for the Eagles is to be determined (TBD) and was not available at press time. 

Prosper Baseball Rundown: (Bi-District Round)

Prosper - The Prosper Eagles (25-10) came out storming in the opening round of the UIL Class 6A baseball playoffs as they swept the three game series 2-0 with 10-2 and 10-1 wins over Hebron (20-12-1). The Eagles took little time putting away the series to advance to the Area round of the playoffs. 

Prosper will face the winner of the three game series between Arlington Martin (20-6-2) and Richardson (14-14-1). Martin took the series opener on Friday night 10-0. The two teams are scheduled to play two games on Saturday, May 8 at Euless Trinity. Date, time and location of the next round of the playoffs for the Eagles is to be determined (TBD) and was not available at press time.
