Rock Hill Baseball Rundown:

Rock Hill - The Rock Hill Blue Hawk (9-4/16-11-3) headed into the last week of  their 2021 season in District 10-5A with a matchup against Lovejoy (10-3/23-7) for the chance to finish second or third place. If the Blue Hawks get the win or lose they will be representing Rock Hill in the UIL Class 5A baseball playoffs.

The week before Rock Hill got wins over Denison 3-1 and Princeton 6-5. On Friday, April 30 district leader The Colony played Denison. The two teams battling for the fourth playoff spot are McKinney North (6-7) and Sherman (5-8). Sherman will be hosting Princeton and McKinney North will be facing Wylie East. A Sherman win and McKinney North loss will leave them tied for the fourth spot that would be determined by a district tie-breaker.

District 10-5A standings going into the final week of the regular season are as follows: The Colony (11-2/19-7-2), Lovejoy (10-3/23-7), Rock Hill (9-4/16-11-3), McKinney North (6-7/13-11-2), Sherman (5-8/12-15), Wylie East (4-9/12-14-1), Denison (4-9/12-17) and Princeton (3-10/10-15-2) according to USA Baseball Texas and MaxPreps statistics.

During the first round of the UIL Class 5A baseball playoffs the top four teams from District 9-5A will face the top four teams from District 10-5A. District 9-5A is made up from all the Frisco schools in Class 5A. The teams still in the hunt for the top four from District 9-5A include: Wakeland (15-3), Liberty (14-4), Lone Star (13-5) and Reedy (12-5). Reedy is slated to play Memorial on Friday and a win by the Lions would put them in a tie with Lone Star. District tie-breaker rules would determine the third and fourth place representatives.

Prosper Baseball Rundown:

Prosper - The Prosper Eagles (7-4/21-10) are hoping to turn around their fortunes when they face the McKinney Boyd Broncos (10-1) on Friday, April 30. Prosper dropped a 7-1 loss to McKinney Boyd on April 27. With a win the Eagles can lock in a higher playoff spot and if Denton Braswell (4-7) can beat Allen (7-4) in their Friday matchup.

The top four spots in District 5-6A are locked in, but Friday’s play will determine who gets which final spot headed into the playoffs. Denton Guyer (8-4) is finished with district play and if both Prosper and Allen win Friday night there will be a log jam at that spot with all three teams having a 8-4 District 5-6A record. The district’s tie-breaker rules would apply if that is the case.

District 5-6A standing going into the final week of the regular season were as follows: McKinney Boyd (10-1/17-11), Denton Guyer (8-4/15-17-1), Prosper (7-4/21-10), Allen (7-4/18-11-1), Denton Braswell (4-7/13-15), McKinney (3-8/13-15) and Little Elm (0-11/5-23-2) according to USA Baseball Texas and MaxPreps statistics.

During the first round of the UIL Class 6A baseball playoffs the top four teams from District 5-6A will face the top four teams from District 6-6A. The teams still in the hunt for the top four from District 6-6A include: Flower Mound Marcus (11-2), Coppell (10-3), Flower Mound (7-6), Plano West (7-6), Lewisville Hebron (6-7) and Plano (6-7).
