Lady Eagle softball off to a good start at 4-3 headed into district play

The Class 6A 14th ranked Prosper Lady Eagles (6-1) have jumped out to a great start to their 2021 season. Prosper took a 6-1 win over Plano to open the season. 

After their opening season win the Lady Eagles went into their first tournament of the season and won four games while losing one. Prosper defeated Flower Mound 9-3, Cedar Hill 17-2, Timber Creek 6-1 and Bishop Lynch 16-0. Their only loss was 10-4 to Rockwall. 

Prosper also got a non-district win over Van Alstyne 6-0

Junior Elizabeth Moffitt leads the team in batting with .667 average with three doubles, six home runs and 19 rbi. Freshman EB Bobbitt is hitting .571. 

Juniors Gabby Coffey is hitting .474 with three doubles, three home runs and 14 rbi. Sydney Lewis is hitting .438 with two doubles, three home runs and 10 rbi along with Riley McDaniel who is hitting .429. 

Senior Abby Beasley  is 2-0 on the mound with 19 strikeouts along with junior Elissa Griffen is 3-1 on the mound with 18 strikeouts. 

The Lady Eagles played in the Turf Wars Tournament over the March 4-6 weekend. Their opponents were Lovejoy, VR Easton, Life Waxahachie, Crandall, Colleyville Heritage and Lewisville.
