Rock Hill Blue Hawks holding at the third in District 10-5A

Rock Hill - The Rock Hill Blue Hawks (6-2/12-4) picked up a win in their January 22 game over Wylie East 73-69 to keep them in the third spot of District 10-5A. Anthony Williams led the team in scoring with 22 points. Grant Shaw and Marsalis Brand were also in double figures with 19 and 11 points, respectively. 

The Blue Hawks also picked up a win on Tuesday, January 26 with a blowout win over Denison 92-46. Anthony Williams was the leading scorer with 23 points and Jaythan Jackson also added 16 points in the win.  

District 10-5A records at this point include McKinney North (7-1/15-3), Lovejoy (4-1/10-3), Rock Hill (6-2/12-4), The Colony (4-2/7-9), Wylie East (2-4/6-13), Sherman (2-5/3-10), Princeton (2-5/4-10) and Denison (0-7/0-11). 

Upcoming District 10-5A games include: January 26: Lovejoy at McKinney North, Wylie East at Princeton, The Colony at Sherman, Denison at Rock Hill; January 28: Wylie East at Lovejoy; January 29: McKinney North at The Colony, Sherman at Wylie East, Denison at Lovejoy, Rock Hill at Princeton; January 30: Wylie East at Lovejoy; February 2: Wylie East at McKinney North, Princeton at Sherman, Lovejoy at Rock Hill; February 5: Sherman at Rock Hill, Wylie East at Denison and Princeton at McKinney North.  

Rock Hill Lady Blue Hawks still sitting at the fourth spot in district play

The Rock Hill girls basketball team hasn't played a game over the last couple of weeks  and sits at 5-4 in District 10-5A with a season record of 11-10.

Rock Hill was able to make up one of the games they missed when they dropped a loss to McKinney North 53-37 on January 27. Sophomore Rebekah Juett had 17 points and four rebounds in the loss. Freshman Laney Hutson had eight points and five rebounds along with Taylor Hagen with seven points and seven rebounds.  The Lady Blue Hawks are scheduled to play the games they missed due to Covid over the next week. 

The Lady Blue Hawks dropped a loss to Wylie East 66-43. Rock Hill had 28 defensive rebounds and did their best to hang with the league leading Wylie East squad. Rebekah Juett had 13 points and seven rebounds while Aariyahna Suggs got seven points, five rebounds and five assists. 

District 10-5A records for the girls to this point include Wylie East (10-0/19-3 - ranked 13th TABC), McKinney North (9-1/16-4 - ranked 19th TABC), Princeton (7-3/18-3), Rock Hill (5-6/11-12), The Colony (3-7/5-13), Denison (2-5/5-12), Sherman (2-7/4-10) and Lovejoy (0-9/0-15).
