Lady Blue Hawks hoopsters drop 2, win 1 over the holiday break

The Rock Hill girls basketball team dropped to (2-3/8-9) over the holiday break when they dropped two district games, but picked up a non-district win. The Lady Blue Hawks hosted a home game from Texans Northwest on December 28 and picked up a 59-51 win. Junior Aariyahna Suggs dominated the game with 19 points, five assists and six defensive stops. 

The Lady Blue Hawks lost their home game against Wylie East 62-39. The game featured a great effort by Rock Hill on the defensive boards against a team that they were a little bit overmatched. Rebekah Juett (10 points) and Haleiyah Hayes (12 points) led the team in scoring.

Rock Hill traveled to Denison and dropped their second district loss of the holidays 58-43. Aariyahna Suggs led the Lady Blue Hawks with 15 points. Overall the team had 11 steals and 33 defensive rebounds. 

District 10-5A records for the girls to this point include Wylie East (5-0/14-3 - ranked 16th TABC), McKinney North (5-0/12-3 - ranked 13th TABC), Princeton (3-2/14-2), Rock Hill (2-3/8-9), The Colony (2-3/4-9), Sherman (2-3/4-6), Denison (1-4/4-11) and Lovejoy (0-5/0-11). 

Upcoming schedule for 10-5A girls includes January 5: The Colony at McKinney North, Wylie East at Sherman, Lovejoy at Denison and Princeton at Rock Hill; January 8: Denison at The Colony, Sherman at Princeton, Rock Hill at Lovejoy and McKinney North at Wylie East.
