The crochet club meets once a month on Tuesdays and the adult craft class meets on one Thursday a month.

Prosper Library, located in the same building as Prosper Town Hall, offers a variety of programs for all ages throughout the year.  As the school year begins, the library is launching their fall programs.  These programs are developed by library staff to offer a variety of educational and fun activities for children, teens, adults, seniors, and families.  Additionally, starting on September 7th, the library has extended the hours to 7 pm to allow more patrons to use the library services.

“We have everything from story times for different ages and languages to adult education on emergency situations and water conservation to clubs such as Anime, Marvel, and crocheting to continuing our story times on the road too,” Director of Library Services Leslie Scott said.  “WOW what a fall of educational fun we have planned. All these fantastic programs follow our library’s mission to engage, educate and entertain.”

The library offers seven weekly story time opportunities for young children and their families.  These events each have a theme, but all welcome children to enjoy the stories, wiggle times, and enjoy the event with their parents.  Story time events are offered in the morning or evening to accommodate adult work schedules and children’s nap times.

Prosper Library offers one craft day a month for teens and tweens.

In addition to the regular story time, there are three themed story time events offered outside the walls of the library, in the community.  This allows children to explore the Town of Prosper while hearing books picked specifically for each outside event.

Family craft times are offered once a month on a Saturday.  These crafts focus on an upcoming holiday and are an opportunity for siblings and parents to create crafts and memories together.

Youth programs are also available throughout the month.  These programs are intended for elementary aged students.  The focus of these programs is based on books and the specific interests of older children, such as anime and Marvel characters.  Some programs have a wide range of ages - such as the puzzle or board game events - so families can play together at the library.

The library has also teamed with staff from the Town of Prosper to offer a few informational events for all ages.  A program about emergency safety, water conservation,Prosper Fire Department, and Prosper Police Department are all offered this fall.  These programs allow for children to become aware and comfortable with these topics and staff while parents learn tips about how to manage during a crisis.

Prosper Library offers one craft day a month for teens and tweens.  These crafts require more skill than the family crafts and allow teens to join peers and enjoy time together.  A list of these crafts and more information is listed on the website.

Finally, adults have programming for themselves as well.  A monthly book club focuses on classic literature and meets on the third Monday of each month. The crochet club meets once a month on Tuesdays and the adult craft class meets on one Thursday a month.  These activities are designed for adults only.
