One injured in Prosper shooting, arrest made

Prosper police have released information about an alleged shooting that took place Thursday.

Around 5 p.m. Thursday, Prosper police issued a release on its social media page about a shooting that had taken place in downtown earlier in the day. The release advised town residents to avoid the area ad the investigation continued.

 As a safety precaution, students still at Reynolds Middle School were placed under lockdown.   

According to the release, Prosper police identified shooters and made arrests.  Initial reports suggest three suspects, one person has been arrested.  The investigation is ongoing.  

The Prosper police confirmed one injury. The victim has been treated and released. 

According to the statement, this is an isolated incident and was the result of an illegal narcotics event. 

The release said Prosper police and Prosper Independent School District were working together to ensure that students feel comfortable returning to school Friday following the incident.  While the police have stated that there is no tie to the schools. They are working with Prosper ISD and had an officer present at every campus Friday.
