Prosper resident is latest COVID-19 death in Denton County
According to Denton County Public Health, a Prosper man in his 60s died June 5 from COVID-19.
That brings the county’s total number of COVID-19 deaths to 33.
The Prosper male had previously been reported as hospitalized. His death was reported June 8.
“We ask for your thoughts and prayers for this community member and his family,” said Denton County Judge Andy Eads. “Social distancing and other public health recommendations can help protect not only yourself, but others too. Please continue utilizing these best practices to reduce the risk of additional cases and deaths due to COVID-19.”
DCPH also announced 13 new laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Denton County, increasing the countywide total to 1,467 confirmed cases.
There is also one newly recovered case in the county.
DCHP anticipates there will be lower case reporting resulting from a statewide system update that is set to occur Saturday and Sunday.
