After losing their first game of the season in their last road game, the Prosper Eagles soared past Plano West on Oct. 25 with a 42-16 win.

Prosper took control of the game early, scoring three touchdowns in the first quarter and racing out to a 21-0 lead before the second quarter even started. The Eagles barely slowed down from there though, scoring another 14 points before the end of the quarter to take a 35-7 lead into the lockerroom for halftime.

Plano West put up nine points in the third quarter and Prosper scored one more touchdown to take a 42-16 lead into the final quarter, which saw both teams kept out of the endzone.

The Eagles had 429 total yards in the contest, and held Plano West to just 174. Just under 200 of the Eagles total yards came through the air, while the other 232 came from the running game. Prosper also gave up three fumbles for turnovers to Plano West during the game.

Quarterback Jackson Berry was 13-for-24 for 197 yards, while JT Lane led the rushing attack with 140 yards on 19 carries. Hayden Metcalf led the team in receiving yards with 106 on four catches.

The win improved the Eagles to 4-1 in district play, and 7-1 on the season, ahead of the Nov. 1 matchup at home against Allen, though that game was played after press time for this issue. Prosper will be back at home on Nov. 8 to conclude the regular season against Plano High.
