The Prosper Lady Eagles volleyball team kept their momentum rolling last week with a 3-2 road win against McKinney Boyd.

The match didn’t start well for Prosper as the Lady Eagles dropped the first two sets 25-22 and 25-14, but they then battled back with two very close sets — 25-23 and 25-23 — to even it before taking the final set 15-12.

Juniors Shaylee Shore and Taylor Youtsey led the way to the team’s 63 total kills with 13 each, while Bailey Birmingham and Nikki Steinheiser each had 11 kills. Steinheiser also contributed a team high 18 digs in the match, followed by Sami Jacobs with 12 and Mackenzie Jefferson with 11.

The win lifted Prosper to 15-7 overall on the season and undefeated in district play.

Prosper next took its spotless district record back on the road on Friday to face Plano West, but that match was after press time for this issue, as was Tuesday’s match at Allen High School. The Lady Eagles will next be in action Friday at Plano West for another district match and then are set to travel to Allen High School for a district match on Oct. 1.

Prosper will be back at home this Friday to host Plano in another district contest and are then set to welcome McKinney High on Oct. 8.

The Lady Eagles opened district play last month with a win over Keller High and followed it with a pair of 3-0 wins over McKinney High and Plano East. The Lady Eagles took their district opener 25-18, 25-13 and 25-21 on the road at McKinney High on Sept. 13 and then took care of the Lady Panthers 25-19, 25-23 and 25-15 in their first district match at home on Sept. 17.
