After giving up her first runs in district play against The Colony on Tuesday, Rachel Eckrote got back to pitching in district how the team has come to expect — keeping the opponents hitless. In her five innings of work against the Creekview Mustangs on Friday night, Eckrote threw her third no-hitter of district play this season, helping the Lady Eagles to an easy 10-0 win on March 23.

Eckrote struck out nine of the 18 batters she faced in the five inning game and walked just one.

Offensively, sophomore Lexi Bell lead her team to victory going 1-for-2 and racking up six RBIs. She got the Lady Eagles on the board early, bringing home Jessica Malan on a sacrifice fly out to right field.

Bell would bat in three more runs in the top of the third when she came up to bat with the bases loaded. With a 2-0 count, Bell smacked a hard grounder to right field, clearing the bases with a one-out triple.

Prosper would score two more runs in the inning to give them a 6-0 lead after three.

Bell would get her final two RBIs after hitting a fly ball to center field. With an error on the fielder, Bell would reach base and Avery Colclaser and Carli Smith would both score.

The Lady Eagles scored a lot of runs thanks to errors by the Mustangs, only three of the 10 runs scored were earned. Creekview had five errors for the game.

Varsity’s next game against Lake Dallas has been moved up to Monday, March 26 at 6 p.m. at Prosper due to the high chance of rain on Tuesday.
