THE COLONY — The Lady Eagles recorded their fifth consecutive district win this season on Tuesday, Feb. 13 after defeating the Colony Lady Cougars 4-0.

“We played pretty well last night,” head coach Rafael Flores said. “I think it was our best game of district so far. The Colony was a solid team and has had some good results so far in district.”

The Lady Eagles wasted no time dismantling the fifth-place Lady Cougars on Tuesday evening. The team put up three goals in the first half before following up the spectacular goal-scoring frenzy with one more in the second to bring the final score to 4-0. The Lady Eagle defense kept the Colony’s attacking players at bay, notching their thirteenth clean sheet of the year.

“It was a game where every player got in and made an impact,” Flores said. “We scored some pretty nice goals as well.”

Senior Cameron Larsen netted two goals in the win, and senior Kat Rogers, who continues to lead the team in goals, found the back of the net as well. Additionally, a new face, Kaitlyn Giametta scored her first goal in her season debut after spending the beginning of the season with the basketball team.

The Lady Eagles remain undefeated and unscored on in district play, holding a 5-0 record (13-1-1 overall), and sit in first place atop District 14-5A standings. They will be back home on Friday, Feb. 16 when they take on Carrollton Creekview at 7 p.m.
