PROSPER — The Prosper High School JV girls’ soccer team dominated their district home opener on Friday, Feb. 2. Coming off a narrow victory over Little Elm on Tuesday. The team ramped up the goal-scoring in Friday’s contest, finding the back of the net four times over the course of the 80 minutes. Lauren Courville scored two in the dominating performance, while Ari Pearson and Meagan Anderson both added a goal apiece to solidify the 4-0 win.

The boys’ JV also took on Newman Smith, traveling to Carrollton for the game. It didn’t take long for the Eagles to get on the board. Osbaldo Loredo netted the find to put Prosper up 1-0, which would hold until halftime. The game wasn’t without pressure from the Trojans, however. Newman Smith continued to build up their attack, pressuring Prosper despite a fiery start to the second by the Eagles. Smith capitalized on a defensive Prosper error in the box to equalize, and the 1-1 score would be the final result.

The teams will head into next week looking to take on Carrollton RL Turner and McKinney North next week. Games will be played at 5:30 p.m.
