The Prosper Lady Eagles keep pace in the district race with two more wins last week.

After a heartbreaking loss to Frisco the previous week, the Lady Eagles got back on track with wins over The Colony and Frisco Heritage.

On Tuesday, the Lady Eagles defeated The Colony in three-games, 25-15, 25-13, 25-15. It took four games on Friday for the Lady Eagles to earn the win. After dropping the first set, the Lady Eagles put Heritage away for a 3-1 win (22-25, 25-23, 25-23, 26-24).

Prosper is still in a three-way tie for first place with Frisco and Frisco Centennial. The Lady Eagles beat Centennial the first time around and faces a big rematch with the Lady Titans this Friday in Frisco.

"We are going through the most difficult part of the season, where school starts to get stressful and the girls have a lot going on other than volleyball," said coach Erin McClanahan. "These past weeks’ matches were evidence that our focus needs to be sharpened. But, it’s nice to end this week with two district wins while not playing to our potential. This week we start round two of district and we will be back in the gym, preparing for each team, with the goal of staying in district championship contention."

Kandyce Freeman: 6 kills, 4 blocks
