The local community will celebrate Prosper High’s Homecoming this week with a parade and community pep rally on Wednesday, Oct. 16.
The parade is set to begin at 5 p.m. at Reynolds Middle School, 700 N. Coleman St., and then head down Church Street to the official starting point at Broadway and Church. The parade will proceed down Broadway turning right on Coleman towards Prosper High.
The parade will end at the intersection of Coleman and Talon Way, in the front of the Prosper High School parking lot, located at 301 Eagle Dr. Immediately following the parade will be the annual Community Pep Rally held in the PHS Arena.
Road closures for the parade will include Craig Road and Broadway to Church Road and Broadway; Church Road and 8th Street; Broadway and Coleman to Coleman and Talon Way; and Coleman will become one-way southbound from Prosper Trail to Broadway.
Free food and beverage will be provided to the community prior to the Pep Rally by First United Bank of Prosper and Children’s Health.
Prosper High students will get to participate in dress up themes all week in honor of Homecoming. Tuesday was Tacky Tourist Day and Wednesday was Twin Day, while Thursday is scheduled to be PJ Day and Friday is “Black Out,” which is also the theme for Friday evening’s game at Children’s Health Stadium, where the Eagles are undefeated this season.
The district game against McKinney Boyd High School is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
The Prosper High School Homecoming Dance will then take place from 8 p.m. to midnight on Saturday, Oct. 19 at the school. Tickets to the dance are $20.
