DALLAS — The Eagles varsity squad struggles to find a rhythm offensively against the shutdown pitching of the Jesuit Dallas Rangers, losing the low scoring district 9-6A ballgame, 2-0, marking Prosper’s first district loss of the season.

Both squads posted non-eventful half innings to start the game, Jesuit Dallas broke the monotony in the bottom of the second with a screaming RBI line drive single into left to give Jesuit a 1-0 lead.

Jesuit Dallas brought around another run in the bottom of the third with a huge RBI triple into right field, giving the Rangers their final lead of the game.

It was a rough night for the Eagles from the batter’s box, only managing to smack one hit throughout the whole ballgame. Jesuit pitching struck out 13 Prosper batters while only giving up three walks.

Despite the loss, Eagles starter Jake Cosner had a fantastic game that kept the Jesuit lead within reach — Cosner went six full innings, giving up four hits and two runs while striking out nine Jesuit batters.
