“HE THAT IS SLOW TO ANGER IS BETTER THAN THE MIGHTY AND HE THAT RULETH HIS SPIRIT THAN HE THAT TAKETH A CITY.” (PROVERBS 16:32)

The only way our words can carry the weight of authority and truth is if they are backed up by our lives. A double-minded man can neither teach nor command. For instance, uncontrolled anger displayed by a parent will not produce a submissive spirit in a child. Our lives are filled with those who demand submission and respect while displaying wantonness, excessiveness, and self-seeking pride. Rebellion rises in our soul and for most of us, reacts in our lives. One who will reign in this life must begin within. All of us want to rule others, but few will rule themselves. Learning to reign with Christ always starts inwardly - not outwardly. Before we can see a display of God’s power through our lives, we must first experience His power over our lives.

“His Way” is written as a weekly devotional, citing a passage of scripture, then showing how it relates to a person’s everyday life. The devotional is written by Kay Dishner.
