The Prosper High School “Pride of Prosper” cheer team has a reputation for impressing judges. In every showing at the UIL State Competition since its inception just a few years ago, the team has made finals and/or placed.

This year brought a new challenge as the team moved up to the 6A conference, arguably the toughest of the levels of competition. The Pride of Prosper was undaunted in their endeavor to continue the legacy. The team competed on Jan. 18th in Crowd Leading, Band Chant and Fight Song. From the scores on these three (3) events, the UIL judges advanced 20 teams to finals from the more than 70 schools in the 6A competition.

The second day had Prosper performing 3rd in the 6A division competing with their three (3) minute Finals Game-Day presentation, a compilation of Fight Song, Band Chant and Crowd Leading. In addition, judges call out a cue as would be heard at a football game and, based upon this cue, the team must choose correctly to do either an offense or defense cheer/chant. Failure to do the correct cheer/chant would disqualify them from placing.

The team did well and amongst tough competition finished 5th at UIL State the first year in Conference 6A. The Pride of Prosper continues to impress and represent the Eagles with pride!
