Two more suspects believed to be involved in a 2015 homicide in Amarillo were arrested this week and booked into the Potter County Correction Center, according to the Amarillo Police Department.

Special Crimes received information that helped identify the four suspects in the shooting death of 27-year-old Roberto Guadalupe Vasquez in December 2015. At the time of the murder, two of the suspects were juvenile males, ages 15 and 16. Because of their ages at the time of the crime, police are not releasing their names.

Two other adult suspects were both previously incarcerated in the Randall County Jail for unrelated charges, and murder warrants were served while they were in jail, according to Amarillo police. Melchor James Vences, 22, and Brendan Paul Givens, 20, remain in the Randall County Jail.

At about 9 p.m. on Dec. 21, 2015, APD officers were dispatched to the rear of a house at 1736 S.E. 8th Ave. because a man had been shot. Officers arrived and discovered Vasquez had been shot in the upper body. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died, according to the police. During the initial stages of the investigation officers determined Vasquez was shot near the front of the house.
