Nothing Bundt Cakes, which had its soft opening more than two weeks ago, will hold its grand opening Friday.

The bakery, part of a nationwide chain of restaurants, is locally owned by Julie and Steve Doty. Its located at 2303 S. Georgia St., in the Wolflin Village shopping center. The Dotys have relocated from Fort Worth.

On Friday, 20 percent of sales will be donated to Colorful Closets of Amarillo, which provides clothing to Amarillo Independent School District students in need. At 9 a.m. Saturday, the first 50 customers will win free bundtlets for a year (one per month for 12 months). Then from noon to 2 p.m., people can come and enjoy samples in something called a Cake-A-Palooza.

The restaurant's hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The cakes are made with real eggs, butter and cream cheese in 40 unique designs and 10 flavors. Four sizes are available, 8- and 10-inch cakes; mini bundt cakes called bundtlets; and bite-sized cakes, called bundtinis.
