Parents: Oscar and Christina Estringel and Keith Vega
Educational or future plans:
My plans are to attend the University of Houston to receive a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Management.
Clubs and Officer Positions:
I have been the school’s mascot for three years. I have also been an AHS varsity football trainer for 4 years, and my junior year I was inducted into the National Honor Society. I am also a part of the Culinary Arts program.
One of my proudest accomplishments is receiving an award for Best Mascot of 2017 at cheer camp. I was also awarded the opportunity to be a part of the National Cheer Association (NCA) cheer staff.
What was the best advice you ever received? Who gave you the advice?
The best advice I received was from my great grandma who always told me “God don't like ugly.” My great grandma was not referring to your physical appearance...she was talking about your inner self. This has always inspired me to be nice to others and to treat others as you would like to be treated.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years, I see myself owning my own company that helps small business owners in need of assistance in running and operating their own business.
If you could change anything about this world, what would it be and why?
The one thing I would like to change in this world is all the racism this world has. Only because I see so much of it on social media and on TV. If everyone would just be okay with everyone there would be none of the arguments and hatred we see today.
If you could invite 3 people to dinner who would they be and why?
The three people I would invite to dinner would be Beyonce because she’s Queen Bee no explanation needed. I would also invite Viola Davis because she is a very strong black female actress and I would love to meet her. Lastly, I would invite Jennifer Hudson because her voice is amazing and I would love to hear her sing in person.
