PROSPER — Connor Jackson threw a one-hitter and struck out nine with no walks as Prosper run-ruled R.L. Turner, 10-0, in five innings on Thursday, March. 29.
Prosper took advantage of five errors and four walks as the offense managed just six hits – all singles – in the District 14-5A victory.
Kendall Foster singled, drove in a run and scored twice while Dawson Zey and Trendan Starkes each had a hit, drove in a run and scored and Taylor Pendley scored twice.
Prosper opened the scoring in the bottom of the first when Jackson reached on an error, Braden Webb singled and Foster followed with an RBI single to right. Zey walked to load the bases and Luke Johnson lined out to center to make it 2-0.
Braden Carmichael scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the second and then Prosper broke the game open the bottom of the third.
An error and a Zey single came before Johnson grounded into a fielder’s choice. Cody Gallegos walked to load the bases and Jake Cosner had a sacrifice fly to right.
Starkes had an RBI single to center to make it 6-0, Gallegos scored on an error and Jackson grounded out to drive in a run and put Prosper up 8-0.
Prosper finished off the scoring in the fourth when Foster raced home on a wild pitch and then Gallegos had a sac fly.
Jackson allowed a two-out single in the top of the third.
