LITTLE ELM – Braden Carmichael threw a one-hitter with eight strikeouts and no walks as Prosper defeated Little Elm, 4-0, in District 14-5A action on Friday, March 16.


Carmichael needed just 80 pitches, 57 of which were strikes, and the only base runner was Dylan Salinas’ single leading off the fifth inning. He was then thrown out trying to steal second.


Dawson Zey singled and drove in two runs, Kendall Foster was 2-for-3 with a triple, drove in a run and scored, Braden Webb was 2-for-3 and scored twice and Connor Jackson walked and scored for Prosper.


The Eagles jumped to the early lead with a pair of runs in the top of the first.


Jackson walked to open the game and Webb sacrificed him to second. Foster tripled to center and then Zey grounded out to short for a 2-0 advantage.


Prosper added a run in the third when Zey singled to right field and bring home Webb.


Webb and Foster had back-to-back singles with one out before Zey’s hit. Prosper loaded the bases on Cody Gallegos’ two-out walk but Little Elm got the final out to keep the deficit at 3-0.


The Eagles made it 4-0 in the fifth on Luke Johnson’s sacrifice fly to center. Webb opened in the inning with a single and Foster walked. A wild pitch moved them into scoring position.
