Prosper senior guard Mackenzie Hewitt has verbally committed to play basketball at Yale.
Her plans will become official once the admissions process is complete. This commitment makes her the second Prosper girls basketball player to commit to playing at a college or university, joining junior and Baylor commit Jordyn Oliver.
“I think it just speaks to who she is,” Prosper head coach Trey Rachal said. “Getting the chance to play basketball after high school is special, but being able to qualify academically to go to a school like this takes a ton of hard work in the classroom. I’m very proud to see the time and sacrifice she had put in pay off.”
Hewitt is one of three seniors on the Prosper girls basketball roster. She is averaging more than 15 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists this season.
