FT. WORTH — The Prosper Eagles boys golf team celebrated a successful weekend at the Eaton Invitational on Oct. 20-21.
Led by Marco Punzo, the Eagles landed a fourth place finish out of a total of eleven teams at the tournament, finishing with a combined score of 625 over the course of two days.
Punzo was the tournament champion, as he scored a 71 on both days to secure the victory. Cole Lantz followed close behind with a 77 and 80. Josh Knight also had a good day out on the green, as he finished his two-day total at 167, and both Cameron Merryman (79, 82) and Jacob Strong (82, 83) scored in the 160’s to round out the Prosper squad.
The program will have a quick turn-around to prepare for several competitions in the upcoming week. The next tournament for the team is on Monday, Oct. 30, where the JV boys and girls will be playing at Lake Park, and the varsity girls will travel to the Texas Star for the Trinity Fall Invitational on Wednesday, Nov. 1.
The Varsity I Boys will have a little bit of time to rest before heading to a the Firewheel Old Course next Friday and Saturday (Nov. 3-4). Rounding out the week, the Varsity II Boys will compete in the Gentle Creek Tournament, hosted by Prosper, on Monday, Nov. 6.
