The Prosper boys and girls swimming and diving teams each finished in first place in their second meet of the season on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at Denton High School.


The Eagles competed against Denton High School and Denton Ryan High School. The Prosper girls and boys finished with 130 and 125 total points, respectively.


The girls took first, second, and third place in the 200-meter freestyle. Victoria Evans took first with a time of 2:07.36 minutes, followed by Marcela Hernandez-Flores (2:16.53) and Heather Pappas (2:19.50). In the 100-meter freestyle, Caroline Eggar led the way with a time of 1:02.53.


Two notable performances stuck out for the boys team. One came from Zachary Watcher, who finished the 100-meter fly with a time of 54.51 seconds. Additionally, Kyle Valdez performed the 500-meter freestyle in just under five minutes (4:51.90).


The team’s next Double Dual meet is set for Tuesday, Oct. 23 at the Frisco ISD Natatorium. Prosper is in search of its eighth consecutive district win dating back to last year and will be competing against Keller, Frisco High and Frisco Wakeland.
