The Prosper swimming and diving team finished in first place in its first meet of the season on Thursday, Oct. 5 at McKinney ISD Natatorium.


The meet hosted three teams, including McKinney and McKinney North. The Prosper boys and girls combined for an overall score of 273, placing ahead of both McKinney (220) and McKinney North (97).


The boys placed first with 152 total points, nearly doubling the second-place McKinney boys (79). The Prosper girls were edged out by McKinney, 141 to 121.


Prosper is in pursuit of its eighth consecutive district championship this season. Their next meet is scheduled at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 12 in Denton.
