The Prosper athletic department is in search of memorabilia items to use in their new stadium.
The new stadium was approved by the Prosper Independent School District board of trustees on Monday, July 10. Construction will begin in January and is expected to be completed before the beginning of the 2019-20 school year.
Prosper Athletic Director Valerie Little said the department’s goal is to celebrate Prosper’s athletic history with any items they can find, including old programs, jerseys and other historical items.
“We want to collect all that memorabilia and tell our story in the new stadium,” Little said. “We all know how important history is and the people that came before us. All the battles they fought are the reason it’s so easy for us right now.”
The specifics of what is done with those items depends on what is donated. Little said her staff plans to go into more detail about marketing and branding strategies once more items are sent in.
“We want to start collecting it now to see what we get and then figure out what we can do with it,” Little said.
Donations can be dropped off at the Prosper administration building at 605 E. Seventh St.
