The annual Prosper Eagle football parent’s meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, July 31 at the high school cafeteria.

The meeting is an opportunity for parents and students to get acquainted with everything regarding the football program. Second-year head coach Brandon Schmidt and the rest of his staff will go over game schedules and practices as well as expectations for themselves, players and parents.

“I’ve been here long enough to develop a relationship and rapport with the kids and the parents,” Schmidt said. “They’re absolutely phenomenal. The family and community support we get along with the kids are completely bought in to what we’re trying to accomplish. I couldn’t ask for anything more as a first-time head coach.”

If desired, parents will be able to join the booster club at the meeting. Team dues are $100 for freshman and $250 for varsity and JV players will be required. Specific details of what is included in the price will be given at the meeting.

Information for the online portals will also be available. Each player and parent is given an account to purchase items such as official Prosper workout clothes, game-day polos and other merchandise.

Overall, Schmidt hopes to convey his goal of teaching his team life lessons throughout the course of the season and having himself and the coaching staff available whenever needed.

“I want the parents to understand that from a coaching staff standpoint, it’s so much more than winning or losing football games,” Schmidt said. “It’s about developing young men and giving them the tools to be successful after high school.”
