The Prosper Middle School wrestling team, consisting of wrestlers from both Reynolds and Rogers, traveled to Argyle on Jan. 27 and 28 for the Texas Middle School State Wrestling Championships. Of the 14 Prosper wrestlers on the boys team, eight received state honors. Chase Parham fought through the 140-pound bracket to bring home the state title with five straight wins. Eli Cordy (113 pounds) and Xavier Rogers (150 pounds) also dominated their brackets, making it to the final round and bringing home second place finishes. LJ Richardson brought home third at 106 lbs with a record of 6-1. Graydon Splawn lost a third-place match, bringing home fourth and 5-2 record. Other state placers include Austin Gordon, sixth at 89 pounds; David Carlan, sixth at 150 pounds; and Reagan Davenport sixth at 162 pounds. Rounding out the boys team were Gabe Mills, Isaac Perez, Collin McNalley, Grant Stringer, Jarrett Hutson and Anthony Harris. As a team, the boys finished in third place out of the 33 public and private schools participating from across the state.

Prosper was also one of eight schools to bring a girls team to the tournament. Emily Reish, Anna Johnson, Morgan Foster and Molly Baugher represented Prosper well in their respective matches.

Coaches Darren Snyder, Joshua Reed and Chase Langley spent their time and commitment to the program, and parents also supported their athletes.
