The Prosper boys basketball team started 5-0 then went out and got to the championship game of the Prosper ISD tournament from Dec. 1-3.


The Eagles (5-1) finished runner up to Denton Guyer on Saturday.


Prosper beat Frisco Legacy Christian and Lake Highlands to get to the title game. The Eagles also came back to beat McKinney Boyd on Nov. 30.

Head coach Jonathan Ellis said Prosper’s 2-0 start showed what elements the team has been working on.


“(It was) a good start to the season,” Ellis said. “I was very pleased with the way we played team defense and shared the ball on offense in both games. Looking forward to seeing exactly what we have and how to shape them for the upcoming district season.”


Prosper goes on the road vs. Frisco Centennial on Dec. 6 and goes to the Greenville tournament Dec. 8-10.
