From Staff Reports

The Eagles lost their third straight district game last Friday to Frisco Wakeland, 38-24. The Eagles are now struggling to right the ship and win out the rest of the season if they hope to make the postseason. If the Eagles miss the playoffs, it will be the first time under head coach Kent Scott.

Neither offense gained 300 yards on the night. Prosper had 279 yards including 101 rushing yards. Marquez Houston had 21 carries for 53 yards and a touchdown on the night. Quarterback Chase Dawkins went 20-for-30 for 178 yards and touchdowns. Chris Jackson led the Eagle receivers with 12 catches for 112 yards and a touchdown.

Wakeland had 292 yards of offense. Brent Altieri had 28 rushing attempts for 111 yards and two scores. Justice Williams had all three of quarterback Jackson Lamb’s passes for 123 yards and one touchdown.

This week, the Eagles try to get back in the win column by hosting the district’s number one team, The Colony. The Colony is 6-0 on the year and last week beat Frisco Heritage 41-21. The Cougars are led by running back Bryan Hammond who has 1,302 yards and 18 touchdowns through six games.

Friday night is homecoming for the Eagles. PHS will crown a new Homecoming Queen before the game. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. at Eagle Stadium.
