According to the PYSA bylaws, new PYSA executive board officers will be elected at the January 2014 Board Meeting on Jan. 19, 2014. Nominations are now being accepted for the following positions: Vice-President — The Vice President will, in the absence of the President, assume all the President’s roles and responsibilities. In addition, he/she will chair a committee appointed by the Board (if necessary) to review the By-Laws of the PYSA every spring and recommend appropriate amendments for Board consideration and action.

Treasurer — The Treasurer will manage custodial affairs of all financial records.

Nominations are also being accepted for the following sports commissioner positions:

Tackle Football Commissioner; Flag Football Commissioner; Volleyball Commissioner (may be filled in interim); Golf Commissioner; Basketball Commissioner (currently open).

The Sport Commissioner is a PYSA representative for their respective league. The Sport Commissioner will primarily be responsible for the league’s operation.

The commissioner positions will be elected by popular vote of the PYSA members in attendance during the first meeting following the end of their season or on Jan. 19, 2014 based on the current status .

Nominations are being accepted for the Sponsorship Coordinator, a non-voting position.

Qualified candidates must meet one of the following criteria for election to the PYSA Board:

N Must be a resident of the town of Prosper

N Must reside within the Prosper Independent School District boundaries.

N Must be the parent/guardian of a child who attends a Prosper ISD school, and their child participates in a PYSA program(s).

N Serve as a director of a sports program that the PYSA has agreed to partner with as a sports offering to the youth of Prosper.

All requests for Executive Board nomination are due no later than Sunday, Dec. 15.
