The Prosper Eagles continued to struggle in a tough football district with a 23-21 loss to Frisco Liberty. The loss drops the Eagles to 3-6 on the season and 1-5 in district play, officially eliminating the team from the postseason.
Offensively, the Eagles out-gained the Redhawks with 386 yards of total offense, to 261 for Liberty. Unfortunately, four turnovers hurt the Eagles chances in the game against the Redhawks.
Chase Dawkins went 16-for-23 for 152 yards and a touchdown in the game. Dawkins also rushed for 18 yards and another score.
Marquez Houston led all rushers with 21 carries for 140 yards on the night.
Chris Jackson had 105 yards on nine catches and one score. LaMarcus Allen also got in the end zone after a two yard pass from Dawkins in the third quarter.
Prosper had the lead late, but the Redhawks went on a 80-yard drive and scored the go-ahead touchdown with 7:25 left in the game.
Prosper had two more offensive opportunities in the fourth but could not move the ball past the Liberty 35.
This week the Eagles will wrap up the season with a game against Frisco High School on Friday at 7 p.m. at Frisco ISD Memorial Stadium. Frisco is coming off a win against Frisco Heritage and is fighting for a playoff spot.
