The first place The Colony Cougars came to town on Tuesday and their power and speed proved to much for the Lady Eagles. The Colony scored twice in the first inning and once more in the third but broke the game open in the sixth by scoring 8 runs. Prosper went toe to toe with the Cougars for 5 innings but the sixth inning proved costly. Prosper could only muster 2 hits, one by Brittany Anderson and one by Kelsey Rolfe. The Colony banged out 15 hits and the Lady Eagle defense committed 4 errors.
Lady Eagles Softball Loses a tough battle to Little Elm 2-4
The Prosper Lady Eagles traveled to Little Elm on Friday and battled the Lady Lobos for 7 innings but in the end came up short. Prosper out hit Little Elm 8 to 3 but could only come up with 2 runs. Trailing 1-0 in the third, Courtney Hardy singled and scored on Brittany Anderson’s single to tie the score at 1-1. Little Elm added 3 runs in their half of the fourth to take a 4-1 lead. Prosper added another run in the fifth as Hardy singled and later scored on Tori Bell’s RBI single. Sophmore Kelsey Rolfe pitched well in the loss only giving up 3 hits and struck out seven. "This was a tough loss because we had a great chance to win, we just couldn’t get the big hit when we needed it, " said Coach Max Bledsoe. "Kelsey pitched well, we had one bad inning defensively and that was the difference in the final score."
