From Staff Reports

The Lady Eagles earned their first district win last week with a 54-33 win over Frisco.

Kandyce Freeman netted 18 points in the win for the Lady Eagles.

On Tuesday, the girls lost to Frisco Liberty, 54-30. Kayla Grudzielanek and Reagan Jones each had 8 points to lead the Lady Eagles.

Coach Trey Rachal said the season has not been as successful as the Lady Eagles had expected but the team is learning to "compete for an entire game." There have been some positives to the season so far.

"We have led and been very competitive in all of our district games except one. We have been constantly talking about finishing games, and when we do, we will be a tough team to beat," Rachal said.

The team is working through the second half of the district schedule now with some tough games ahead. Rachal said the team still aims to compete.

"The second half of the schedule is an opportunity to show the growth that this team is making," he said. "As a team and a coaching staff, we feel like we can compete with anyone, and we are out to prove that.

The Lady Eagles want to grow into a consistent basketball program, Rachal said. "These are great kids and they want to leave a lasting impression on this community, they will continue to get better this year."

This Friday the Lady Eagles will host to Frisco Centennial and next Tuesday will host Frisco Wakeland.
