From Staff Reports
After a brilliant season opener beating Plano Senior last week, the Eagles varsity hockey team failed to put Denton County on ice last Thursday night at the McKinney Dr. Pepper Stars Center losing 4–2. It was a very fast-paced game with many penalties on both sides.
Although momentum exchanged hands between both teams throughout the game, it just wasn’t meant to be for the Eagles this time around. Forward Nick Early contributed with one goal and one assist while forward Ricky Carballo also had one goal. Forward Dakota Byker added in one assist as did defenseman Ricky Regala. Although co-captains Harrison Hood and Huston Svondrk were quiet statistically in the game, their presence was definitely felt by keeping the game within reach. The team is preparing for their next opponent, rival Plano West.
Game time will be Thursday, May 23 at 6:15pm at the Dr. Pepper Stars Center in Frisco. Admission is free and all are welcome to attend.
