On March 23, the Prosper High School cheer squads held a banquet celebrating an amazing year under the guidance and leadership of Coach Julie Brantley, Emily Allen, and Beth Childs.
At the banquet, three deserving seniors received a college scholarship provided by the Prosper Cheer Booster Club: Megan Galbraith, Chandler Havens and Kylie Lynch.
Galbraith will be attending the University of Arkansas and was accepted into the Honors College for Engineering. Havens will be attending TCU in the fall and plans to major in fashion design. Lynch is going to OSU and is majoring in apparel design and merchandising.
Two girls from each squad were also recognized by fellow teammates and their coach and received the Eagle Heart Award and the Eagle Pride Award. The Eagle Heart award was voted on by the squad members for that one cheerleader who exemplifies the true meaning of a leader.
The winners of this award are: Senior-Megan Galbraith; Junior- Abby Bridges; Sophomore-Madison Floyd; and Freshman-Regan Pettis.
The Eagle Pride award is an award chosen by the coaches for the individual who not only takes pride in their role as a cheerleader, but they can be counted on to do what is asked of them without question. These girls take responsibility seriously and work hard to meet their individual goals, both as a cheerleader and the in the classroom and community.
The winners of this award are: Senior-Chandler Havens; Junior-Alex DeKinder; Sophomore-Alia Shelwood; and Freshman-Macie Reynolds.
