Prosper Mayor Ray Smith (second from left) read a proclamation at a recent Town Council meeting declaring Oct. 21-25 as Red Ribbon Week in the Town of Prosper to mirror the anti-drug efforts at Prosper Independent School District campuses. Accepting the proclamation were Assistant Police Chief Gary McHone (left) Police Chief Kirk McFarlin (second from right) and Officer Leon Goodman (right) Prosper ISD Police.
The National Family Partnership, formerly the National Federation of Parents for Drug Free Youth, began in 1980, according to the website www.redribbon.org,

Today, NFP is a national leader in drug prevention education and advocacy.
