From Staff Reports

This year’s Christmas parade will be sponsored by the Rotary Club of Prosper. They are inviting organizations to be a part of the festivities on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 4 p.m.

This year’s theme is "Light up the Night" and judging will be based on many factors including theme, decoration, costumes and enthusiasm. There will be prize money handed out to the first and second place winners ($300 and $100 respectively). The Rotary Club is asking floats to not feature Santa Claus to avoid confusion with the Rotary-sponsored Santa float in the parade.

The float entry fee is $35 before Nov. 30 and $50 after that date. Applications are available at www.prosperrotary.org.

Parking at the parade assembly area is not permitted. This area must be kept available for the actual parade participants. You are encouraged to drop off your riders at the PISD Rucker Elementary parking lot location, and then park your vehicle at Reynolds Middle School, located at 700 N. Coleman Road.Buses will shuttle between the Reynolds and Rucker areas. If you have any sort of parade-related vehicles (i.e. horse trailers, band wagon, etc.), please use the Rucker Elementary Northwest parking lot.

If you have any questions, send an e-mail parade@prosperrotary.org or call one of the parade chairmen: JD Dodson 469-855-5161 or Todd Baker 972-587-7932
