Recently, the members of the Reynolds Middle School National Junior Honor Society held their annual induction ceremony. Forty-eight seventh and eighth grade students were inducted into the Reynolds Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society.

In the prelude to the ceremony, current NJHS member Alyssa Thompson performed "Minuet" by J.S. Bach. After reciting the United States Pledge of Allegiance, led by Boy Scout Troop No. 289, the current President, Taylor Moore, gave an introductory speech about the National Junior Honor Society. NJHS Members, Haley Birmingham, Aubrey Davenport, Mackenzie Hamilton, Katelyn Garst, and Svaksha Iyengar spoke as five candles were lit to represent the principles- Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Character and Citizenship.

Once the Candle Lighting Ceremony was completed, each member was awarded a golden honor cord, a membership certificate, and a white rose. Finally, the inductees recited the National Junior Honor Society pledge to remain committed to scholarship, leadership, service, character and citizenship. The newly inducted members were asked to present a white rose to someone who has helped them reach this achievement. The newly inducted members and their guests were invited to a reception in their honor.

We are immensely proud of our students for this wonderful achievement. In addition to our family and teachers, we would like to thank Jimbo’s Pizza for their support.
