Prosper ISD will welcome over 6,000 students on the first day of school, Monday, Aug. 26.
School start times have changed slightly from last year. Elementary school hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Rogers Middle School (fifth and sixth) hours are 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Reynolds Middle School (seventh and eighth) hours are 8 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Finally, Prosper High School’s hours are 8:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
The best way for our families and community to stay informed of district events and accomplishments is through the Eagle Express weekly e-mail publication from PISD superintendent Drew Watkins. Parent emails are gathered during the student registration process and are loaded into the email subscription service so they automatically receive the Eagle Express and corresponding campus principal newsletters. Community members who would like to receive the Eagle Express can sign up on-line through the PISD website.
Parents wishing to receive campus specific campus grade level, or athletic event newsletters should visit their campus websites starting Aug. 5, log into the SchoolFusion website using their individual Skyward login information and subscribe to the appropriate newsletters. Specific directions for signing up for all campus newsletters will be on the front page of all school websites.
Parents of returning PISD students are reminded to register their school children online this year through InfoSnap. Online registration through InfoSnap will be available through Aug. 9. It is important for parents to complete this registration information yearly in order to ensure we have accurate information for your student.
Parents will receive an automated email regarding registration. If a parent does not receive an email during the week of the July 29, please contact the PEIMS Coordinator, Laura McGlaun at firstname.lastname@example.org.
In order for students to be placed on a class list at elementary or to have a schedule made at secondary campuses, parents must complete this annual on-line registration process. To access on-line registration, visit the Prosper ISD website (www.prosper-isd.net) and click on the InfoSnap button located on the left hand side of the page.
Starting Aug. 5, new to PISD families can register their students by going directly to their home campus during regular business hours.
Parents may add money to their child’s meal account by accessing the on-line MySchoolBucks button located on the left hand side of the PISD website. Lunches for Elementary students cost $2.15. At Rogers Middle School and Reynolds Middle School lunches cost $2.40. Breakfast for students at all grade levels is $1.
Prosper High School’s cafeteria has some changes coming this school year. These changes will include many new dining options for students to enjoy at $2.40 per combo meal. The high school is not participating in the federal meal program this year, but will continue providing meal benefits to students that apply and are approved to receive assistance. Parents must complete the application for Free and Reduced meals in order to receive these meal benefits.
During the on-line registration process, parents who wish to apply for meal benefits can print the application from the site. The district also offer applications in campus offices, which may be returned to the campus office or brought to the PISD Administration Building located at 605 E. 7th Street. Students who received lunch assistance last year will continue to qualify until Oct. 7. Prior to Oct. 7, a new Federal Application for Free and Reduced Meals must be completed, returned, and approved to receive assistance.

Prosper ISD continues to bring quality transportation to the Prosper community through district-owned and supervised school bus services. All bus routes are equipped with propane-powered school buses, all with seatbelts, air conditioning, and video surveillance.
Beginning Aug. 12, parents can access their child’s bus route by navigating to the Departments tab on the Prosper ISD website and clicking the Transportation link. Then, click on the tab titled, Find My Bus Route or you can access the link at www.infofinderi.com. Parents must enter all information required in order to find your bus number and scheduled times for pick up and drop off. Representatives from the Prosper ISD Transportation Department will also be available at campus back to school events. As a reminder, students who live within two miles of their designated campus are not eligible for transportation. In rare cases, the PISD School Board has defined certain routes as hazardous because of the absence of adequate sidewalks or crosswalks as defined by board policy.
For added safety, PISD will post additional crossing guards at busy intersections to assist students walking to and from school. Please note the crossing guard locations are located on PISD Transportations website.
The PISD elementary schools, Rogers (fifth and sixth) and Reynolds (seventh and eighth) offered parents the opportunity to purchase school supply packs in the spring. At the elementary schools, pre-ordered supplies will be delivered to each child’s classroom before Meet the Teacher Night and middle school students can pick up their pre-ordered supplies at Schedule Pick Up. Each school has a few school supply packs available for purchase on a first come, first served basis. Call the school secretary to inquire about purchasing a school supply pack if you still need one.
School supply lists are also posted to the campus websites. High school students simply need paper and a pen the first day of school, and their individual teachers will provide students with the course requirements.
After School Care
All four elementary schools will offer after school care through the YMCA. Parents interested in registering their children for the YMCA Afterschool Program can access the enrollment forms and information on the Prosper ISD website. Simply navigate to the Parents tab located at the top of the page and then to the YMCA link on the left hand side.
Parents may visit the Y Afterschool website directly at www.ymcadallas.org/afterschool or call the Business Services Department at (972) 920-YMCA. Representatives from the YMCA will also be available at campus back-to-school events to meet, greet, answer questions, and give information. However, in order to attend Y Afterschool Care the first week of school, please register no later than Aug. 23.
Elementary students will receive a Welcome Back postcard in the mail during the week of Aug. 19. The postcards will indicate the student’s teacher and room number. If for some reason your elementary student does not receive a postcard in the mail, please contact the elementary school office to inquire. Please note, only students whose parents have completed the annual on-line registration through InfoSnap (July 29 – Aug. 9) will receive a postcard and be placed on a class list.
Back to School Events
Pre-K and Kindergarten Parent Night of Information
Pre-K and Kindergarten Night of information will be held at all elementary campuses on Friday, Aug. 16 from 6-7 p.m. Parents will have a chance to learn about the structure of the Pre-K and Kindergarten classes in addition to learning about their child’s academic year.
Meet the Teacher Event
Bring your students Friday, Aug. 23 from 5:30 – 7 p.m. to meet their teachers and explore their campuses and classrooms.
During the event, students and their families are invited to visit information booths to get information about PTO, Scouting programs, YMCA, order and purchase new spirit wear items, receive bus information, and pay for school lunches. If your family pre-ordered school supply packs from EPI, they will be waiting in your child’s classroom on meet the teacher night.
"Cheers and Tears" Breakfast for Kindergarten Parents
All Kindergarten parents invited to attend the PTO sponsored "Cheers and Tears" Breakfast after dropping off their children for their first day on Aug. 26 from 7:30 - 8:15 a.m.
First Week Procedures
During the first week of school, teachers will be ready to welcome students directly into their classrooms beginning at 7:30 a.m. Parents are welcome to walk their children to their classrooms during this week. Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 3 parents are requested to allow their children to walk into the building on their own, with the assistance of school personnel.
Curriculum Night at all elementary campuses is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 10. Parents of third and fourth graders are invited to attend from 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Parents of students in first and second grade are invited to attend from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Rogers Middle School
Rogers Middle School will host Open Locker Practice on Aug. 1, 6, and 8 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. each day. Students may visit the campus during this time to pick up their pre-ordered school supplies and organize them in their assigned locker. If students have purchased their supplies from local stores they are also encouraged to bring their supplies so that students will have the opportunity to get as organized as possible before the first day of school. Students may also spend time decorating their lockers, but no stickers inside lockers.
On Tuesday, Aug. 20, sixth grade students are invited to attend schedule pick up from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. and Thursday, Aug. 22, fifth grade students are invited to attend schedule pick up at Rogers Middle School from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.
Only students who completed the annual registration through InfoSnap will have a schedule available for pick up. Adminstrators are asking that all students use a backpack without wheels due to safety concerns and in order to allow for space in the student lockers. Just a reminder, all students will need to have a lanyard for their student ID.
The Rogers PTO will offer families the opportunity to join the PTO, purchase spirit wear, sign up for volunteer opportunities, and pay class party money for the year.
In addition to picking up the class schedule, students and parents can purchase many important items including student planners ($5) and school supply packs ($60). Parents will also be able to make a deposit into their child’s lunch account.
Classes will begin promptly at 8:15 a.m. Front doors open for student drop off at 7:15 a.m. and supervision begins at 7:30 a.m. As students arrive, they will be asked to report to one of the two competition gyms on campus. Students arriving by car may be dropped off in the front or back of the building where Rogers staff members will be on duty to greet the kids. Students will be dismissed at 3:15 p.m.
Rogers Middle School will host a new to PISD pizza luncheon for all new students on Friday, Aug. 30 during their assigned lunchtime.
On Tuesday, Sept. 5 at 6 p.m. Rogers will host a parent meeting to discuss Technology at Rogers (safety, parent involvement, and technology available on campus)
In addition, an important upcoming date to highlight for Rogers Middle School will be Rogers Curriculum Night on Sept. 12. This evening will be an event for RMS and RMS PTO. Curriculum/Parent Information Night for fifth grade will be held from 5:30 - 6:45 p.m. and 7 - 8:15 p.m. for parents of our sixth grade students. This evening will allow parents to walk in their child’s shoes by following his or her class schedule.

Reynolds Middle School
Reynolds Middle School will host schedule pick up night Tuesday, Aug. 20 for eighth graders and Thursday, Aug. 22 for seventh graders. The time for both nights is 6:45 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Schedules will be available for all students who have completed online registration through InfoSnap. Along with their schedules, students will receive their locker assignment and will be permitted to move into their lockers and personalize them, but no stickers are allowed.
The Reynolds PTO has organized schedule pick up night to handle many back to school details. Staff will be available to provide information about transportation, library usage, required reading, and athletics. This evening will also provide students and parents a chance to purchase many important items including spirit wear and available school supply packs. Parents will also be able to set up and deposit money into the student’s lunch account. Pre-ordered school supply packs will also be available for students to pick up. Separate checks will be needed for school purchases and PTO purchases.
There will be an Athletic Parent Meeting at 8 p.m. during schedule pickup for the respective grade levels. Parents will receive important information from the coaches regarding athletics and will be able to turn in their child’s physical forms at that time.
Also, on Friday, Aug. 16, student athletes will have football equipment pick up at Reynolds at the following times: eighth grade 9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.; seventh grade 10:30 a.m. – noon. Volleyball tryouts will be held the evening of the first week of school (Aug. 27 – 30) at the following times: seventh grade 2:40 p.m. – 4:15 p.m.; eighth grade 6:45 a.m. – 8:20 a.m.
Supervision at Reynolds will begin at 7 a.m. each school day. As students arrive, they may report to the cafeteria. They will then be directed to their grade level location for the first day.
Another important date to highlight for Reynolds Middle School is Monday, Sept. 17. Curriculum Night will be held from 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Prosper High School
The Prosper High School hours have changed. The school doors will open at 7:15 a.m. with classes beginning at 8:30 a.m. and the school day will end at 3:45 p.m. Buses will drop off and pick up in the back of the school, while parents can drop off and pick up students at the front entrance. Student drivers should park in the East and West Parking lots. The front parking lot is designated for visitors.
Prosper High School will host Back to School Schedule Pick-up on Aug. 19–22. On-line registration for all students must be completed through InfoSnap, which is open through Aug. 9. Students whose parents have not completed the annual on-line registration will not have a schedule available to pick up.
