Last week, Prosper police arrested four individuals after serving a search warrant near the downtown area.
According to Prosper police spokesperson Marty Nevil, on Tuesday, Sept. 17 the Prosper Police Department along with the special operations unit from the Frisco Police Department served an arrest warrant and search warrant at a house in the 100 block of West 6th Street in Prosper. Four individuals were arrested inside the house. Eric Perez, 25, was arrested for a warrant for Burglary of Habitation. Jimmy Perez, 29, was arrested on three charges: suspicion of possession of controlled substance, penalty group 1, less than one gram; possession of controlled substance penalty group one, four to 200 grams; and possession of a dangerous drug. Nicholas Zannotti, 33, was arrested for suspicion possession of controlled substance penalty group 1. Sierra Camacho, 18, was arrested on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia.
The four were all taken to the Collin County Detention Center, where they were booked in. The investigation continues, Nevil said.
According to the lead investigator Officer Sam Owens, "These arrests closed at least 15 offenses related to burglaries in Prosper and potentially more in other cities." More than 200 possible stolen items were seized during the search warrant and currently being returned to property owners. Nevil said police have been unable to identify some of the owners of the stolen property.
Owens said the overall success of this investigation to the eye witnesses that came forward, in addition to the partnership of local as well as federal law enforcement resources.
"As a reminder, lock your car doors. You should also record your serial numbers and take pictures of valuable items," Nevil said. "Remember: Hide, Lock, Take and report any suspicious activity to your local police department."
