Dallas Cowboy Owner Jerry Jones announced last week that he would work with Lincoln Property on the Gates of Prosper development, located at the corner of Preston Road and U.S. 380 in Prosper. The project has been in the works for several years, but was delayed because of the road-widening project, which should be completed this year.

The development will feature office buildings, apartments and retail space.

Lincoln Property is expecting to begin construction of the first phase, a 500-acre development, this year and will include 300,000 square feet of retail space. The first phase is expected to open late next year.

The Jones family’s Blue Star Land Co. in Frisco, owns the prosper.

"Lincoln has a long history here in North Texas," Stephen Jones told the Dallas Morning News last week. "And we are good friends with them."

Lincoln Property also is working on other projects around the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

"We couldn’t be more thrilled to be working with the Cowboys and Frisco," Lincoln Property executive vice president David Pettle told the Morning News. "The relationship really started with that Prosper project. "When this came along, we started talking with them about being involved in Frisco, too."

Lincoln will also work on the retail projects around the new Dallas Cowboys headquarters near Warren Parkway and the Dallas North Tollway in Frisco.
