From Staff Reports

Prosper High School Eagle Choirs recently took a record number of students to the Texas State Solo and Ensemble competition in Austin, Texas. Fourteen soloists competed against 24,000 musicians. Of Prosper’s fourteen soloists, five earned a "Superior" rating, bringing home gold medals and nine earned an "Excellent" rating, bringing home silver medals. This is the best the PHS choir students have ever done at the state competition.

Out of the 24,000 competitors, only 305 students earn the distinguished "Outstanding Performer" award. Averie Bishop from Prosper High School earned this prestigious award with her soprano solo, "Pie Jesu". All soloists were accompanied by Chrystalee Thompson and are under the direction of Connie Miserak and Da’On Hinton.
