Lady Eagles Travel to Kennedale Soccer Tournament

Last week, the Prosper Lady Eagles soccer team continued to play tough opponents and put some "W's" in the win column.
On Tuesday, the Lady Eagles took on the Denton Ryan Lady Broncos in Denton. The first half was well played by both teams, but the Lady Eagles struck first and took a 1-0 lead into halftime. The second half started with the same intensity and both teams had great chances to score. With 18 minutes left in the half the Lady Eagles were able to score another goal with great team play. As the game was coming to a close the Lady Eagles slipped in yet another goal to leave no doubt. The girls would win the game 3-0 and, along with the JV team, complete the sweep of the Denton Lady Broncos.
Before the varsity game, the Lady Eagles JV took the field for the first time this season and these young ladies were part of history as they recorded the first ever victory for a Lady Eagle JV squad. A team effort propelled the Lady Eagles to a 2-0 victory.
On Thursday the Varsity Lady Eagles traveled to Kennedale to participate in the Lady Kat Invitational Tournament. he Lady Eagles would take on Robinson in the opening game of the tournament. The Lady Eagles started the game strong and dominated both halves of the game. When the final whistle blew the Lady Eagles were ahead 4-0. The Lady Eagles returned to Kennedale on Friday to take on Texarkana Pleasant Grove. The Lady Eagles once again would dominate and not allow a signle shot on goal. The Lady Eagles would take home the victory, 2-0.
The two wins would have the girls take on Arlington Seguin in the quarterfinals Friday night. Not even an hour long delay could slow the Lady Eagles. The pressure started from the opening whistle and the Lady Eagles won the game 6-0.
Early Saturday morning the Lady Eagles took on a tough Abilene Wylie opponent. The girls fought admirably, but in the end the Lady Eagles were on the wrong end of a 4-0 defeat.
After the tournament the Varsity's overall record is 8-3-1.
On Friday both teams will be at home to take on Carrolton RL Turner (JV 5:00 / Var. 6:30).
