A familiar face is returning to Stephenville as the Stephenville Economic Development Authority’s next executive director.
Jeff Sandford, the former president and CEO of the Stephenville Chamber of Commerce, will begin his new role on June 1.
“When I think about returning to Stephenville, I plan to bring passion back to what we consider our hometown,” Sandford said in a statement from SEDA. “We want to create a home, be a part of the fabric of Stephenville and to be a partner with all things taking place for our community.”
Sandford has nearly 25 years working in economic development, focusing on job creation, workforce and community development and organizational effectiveness.
He was the CEO of Stephenville’s Chamber from 2001-06, then went to Texarkana where he served as the CEO of the Chamber of Commerce and as the chief economic development officer, which encompassed two city and two state regions.
He is now working in North Carolina where he has developed model workforce and talent development programs used across the state.
The Stephenville City Council approved his hiring on Tuesday.
