Javier Joseph Perez was arrested Tuesday on the 1800 block of Willow Street after investigators assisted the Jim Wells County Adult Probation with a random home check. As part of the home check Perez gave consent to search the residence where investigators confiscated approximately 11.7 grams of heroin in Perez’s bedroom. Perez was transported to the JWC jail and charged for possession of a controlled substance.
Investigators went to another residence on the 600 block of Ida Street to assist the JWC Adult Probation Department with another random home check. As they searched the residence they discovered more than 101 grams of synthetic marijuana and two grams of cocaine. Investigators arrested Michael John Gomez for manufacturing and delivery of synthetic marijuana, and possession of a controlled substance. He also had two warrants out of JWC for judgement N.I.S.I. - burglary. Gomez was booked into the JWC jail.
JWC deputies conducted a traffic stop on County Road 120 and County Road 171 on Sunday at approximately 9 a.m. on a white in color Chevrolet Tahoe.
As the deputy made his way towards, he could hear roosters inside the vehicle. Inside the vehicle the deputy located a box of steel - cockfighting slashers. In the course of the roadside interview the passenger was identified as Cecilio Olivarez III from Mathis.
Olivarez was arrested and transported to the JWC jail. He was charged with possession of cockfighting slashers.
