A one-vehicle accident claimed the life of a man just after midnight Easter Sunday. Amarillo Police Department officers were dispatched to the 7100 block of southbound I-27 at 12:37 a.m. Micah Andrew Neuhaus, 30, had been southbound on I-27 exiting at Bell St. when he lost control of the vehicle.

Neuhaus, who was not wearing a helmet, police say, ended up ditch where he struck a culvert and died. Justice of the Peace J. Tracy Byrd ordered an autopsy. Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the collision, which remains under investigation.
